A Safe Home for an Army Veteran

When a recent Pancakes for Roger grant recipient joined the U.S. Army in 1986, she was looking for training, travel, and the opportunity to earn an education while serving her country. What she found was far more meaningful: a lifelong commitment to service, faith, and community.

During her time in uniform, she proudly served alongside dedicated men and women who shared her mission and values. Guided by her belief in“God, Family, and Country,” she built a foundation of faith and resilience that continues to guide her life today. Her service was recognized with honors, including the Army Commendation Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, and the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal.

Now living in Wisconsin, she continues to give back to the Veteran community in multiple ways. Her sense of duty and compassion have never wavered, even after leaving active service.

This year, she faced significant challenges with her home. After replacing her roof, she discovered her bathroom required major remodeling to provide accessibility and safety modifications. With support from a Pancakes for Roger grant, those critical repairs are now possible.

She expressed her gratitude for the consideration and contribution made toward improving Veterans’ lives. Her story reflects the heart of what service truly means: commitment to others, strength in faith, and an enduring love for this country and those who serve it.
