U.S. Coast Guard Veteran Receives Housing Assistance

For one Pancakes For Roger grant recipient, joining the U.S. Coast Guard was a way to give back. Drawn to a life of purpose and service, he found meaning in helping others and protecting his country’s waters. His time in uniform reinforced a lesson that continues to guide him today: it is always better to give than to receive.

That belief shaped not only his service but also the way he approaches life. After leaving the Coast Guard, he continued to live with a spirit of generosity and adventure. He has traveled around the world, taking part in volunteer projects and finding ways to lend a hand wherever he can.“I like knowing there is a part I can always play,” he shared.

A recent Pancakes for Roger grant is helping him find greater stability with his housing, easing the stress of rental payments and providing a foundation to build from. His story is one of quiet dedication and gratitude, a reflection of the Coast Guard’s values and the lasting impact of service that continues long after the uniform comes off.
